Around the World

Nora Mayr

Interested in urban infrastructures, spatial grids, and virtual networks, Hubert Blanz turns his focus to the dynamics of e-commerce, especially the circulation and return of goods. His installation Around the World stages this endless cycle of exchange in the form of a Ferris wheel. Each of its twelve gondolas contains samples of the most frequently returned products, highlighting their absurd perpetual circulation. Set into motion, the work enacts a continuous “Around the World” journey, mirroring global patterns of consumption, exchange, and repetition.
