Project description

Hubert Blanz's video photographs reflect excerpts from contemporary everyday experiences of our industrial culture. The images show impressions of digital landscapes and city scenes from a globally networked world.

A 12-square-metre area covered with a number of discarded and equipped CPU boards forms the photographic template. Urban structures are simulated by the appropriate positioning of the mainboards, plug-in cards (hardware) and individual electronic components. The resulting soundscape (original composition) uses exclusively digital noise and sound information, which is also generated by the architecture shown.
